Goerwitz

In this photo my daughter and I are punching holes through a layer of dirt and newspaper that we've lain down over another layer of compost. The newspaper keeps the weeds down and degrades over the course of a month or two. The compost enriches the soil. The box in front of my daughter contains potato spuds that we drop down the holes we're making.
